Virtually every orthopaedic practice has encountered numerous unnecessary delays and exploding administrative burdens caused by insurance company prior authorization activities, which was further evidenced by a recent NYSSOS member survey. 

This year we have a rare opportunity to support efforts under way to reform these activities, which is being championed by Senator Neil Breslin and Assemblymember John McDonald. The new proposal would reduce the enormous administrative burdens and also thereby enhance patient care.
